Course for Subunit and Platoon Commanders (EPCSUPEL)
On February 10, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) started the Course for Subunit and Platoon Commanders (EPCSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese) of the 20th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti (20o CONTBRAS, acronym in Portuguese) at Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Facility. This course aims at preparing officers already appointed for the specific functions of Subunit and Platoon Commanders and at enabling them to train their fractions as instructors. The present course is offered to military personnel from the Brazilian Navy, Army and Air Force, who will be taking part in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH, acronym in French) and have also been assigned as members of BRABAT, BRAENGCOY and Marines Coy. At the opening ceremony of the course, CCOPAB Commander - Col Vendramin - delivered a lecture on Peace Operations and the Experience of Brazil, focusing on MINUSTAH.
