End of the course on Logistics and reimbursement in PKOs
On the last 29 November, CCOPAB carried out the closing ceremony of the first edition of the course on Logistics and Reimbursement in PKOs. Thirty-three military personnel completed the course – 06 from the Brazilian Navy, 25 from the Brazilian Army, and 02 from the Brazilian Air Force; all of them working at Sector Military Units in charge of logistics of the Brazilian Armed Forces.
The course approached the necessary regulations and procedures for the logistical support of the Armed Forces towards the Brazilian contingents in PKOs as well as the system of logistics of the United Nations (UN). Another relevant issue was the system of reimbursement of TCCs in missions under the aegis of the UN.
The course lasted for two weeks and met the requirements of the Ministry of Defense. It aimed at providing support for the preparation of military personnel when working in logistical functions within the UN system. It all involves the preparation of national logistics, deployment of troops, and negotiations with the Department of Filed Support (DFS), under the UN Secretariat.
The course counted on the participation of Maj JØrund Skaali from the Norwegian Defense International Center (NODEFIC), a renowned and UN accredited institution in PKOs logistics-related courses.
