National flag pledge of allegiance and medals award parade
On 29 August 13, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center carried out the parade for the pledge of allegiance of the non-professional privates to the Brazilian National Flag. On that opportunity, medals were awarded to some of the military personnel of the Center. The ceremony was headed by COLONEL LUIZ FERNANDO ESTORILHO BAGANHA, CCOPAB Commander.
The following soldiers of the Center were awarded with medals: MAJOR MÁRCIO RONNER MONTEIRO MATIAS was awarded with the 20-year military service silver medal; CAPTAIN ISRAEL ALVES DE SOUZA JÚNIOR was awarded with the 10-year military service bronze medal; and 1st LIEUTENANT JOÃO MAURÍCIO DIAS LOPES VALDETARO was awarded with the 10-year military service bronze medal, and Marechal Machado Lopes medal which was granted by the National Association of the Veterans of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force [FEB, acronym in Portuguese] as a recognition of the relevant services provided for the Association, for the 9th Combat Engineering Battalion as well as his respect for the glorious journey of the FEB.
