Beginning of the 4th Course on Humanitarian Demining
August 26 is the opening day of the 4th edition of the Course on Humanitarian Demining at the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB). The course aims at preparing military personnel to act as international Monitors or Supervisors in Humanitarian Demining under the aegis of international organisms.
The course will last four weeks, during which this edition's fifteen apprentices will be given information regarding international rules, the Ottawa Treaty, humanitarian international law, civil and military coordination, gender, technical procedures concerning humanitarian demining, child protection and first aid, among other topics.
