CCOPAB concludes the organization of the XV Annual Assembly of ALCOPAZ
Salvador (BA) – From 28 November to 01 December 2023, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) organized the XV Annual Assembly of the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (ALCOPAZ), which was held at the Air Force Military Convention and Accommodation Center (CEMCOHA).
Under the central theme “Women in Peace Operations”, the event featured several presentations given by Full Members and Observers of ALCOPAZ. It can be highlighted the presentations carried out by Colonel VAZ, Commander of CCOPAB, who not only did present the activities developed by the Center in the current year, but also the work carried out by the Secretariat of the Association in 2023, in charge of CCOPAB, during Brazil's pro tempore presidency of the Association.
Also noteworthy, it is the presentation given by Captain HENRIQUE, CCOPAB Instructor, who coordinated the pioneering edition of the Regional Course on Environmental Management in Peace Operations, within the scope of ALCOPAZ. On 01 December, during the Closing Ceremony, the “Merit for Peace” Medal was awarded by ALCOPAZ to Colonel VAZ and Colonel (Ret.) MOLETA, respectively Secretary and Executive Secretary during the pro tempore presidency of Brazil.
Moreover, Lieutenant Colonel CHRISTIANE LIMA, Captain HENRIQUE and 1st Sergeant CASTRO, who were part of the Secretariat team this year, also received their medals. Afterwards, closing the XV Annual Assembly, the Minutes of the event were formally signed by the Full Members of ALCOPAZ. Then, Rear Admiral STEWART, Deputy-Chief of International Operations of the Brazilian Ministry of Defense, handed over the pro tempore presidency of ALCOPAZ to Chile, represented by Rear Admiral JUAN MARÍN, Director of Operations of the Chilean General Staff, as a solemn act, marked by the delivery of the Association's flag.
