CCOPAB members take part in educational activities at Agulhas Negras Military Academy (AMAN)
Resende, Rio de Janeiro - On 16 November 2021, MAJ Raphael ANDRADE de Lima - instructor and WO JACIRCLEI Câmara Azevedo - command adjutant, both from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, delivered a lecture at Agulhas Negras Military Academy (AMAN, acronym in Portuguese).
The objective of the lecture was to familiarize senior cadets of AMAN with the missions and characteristics of CCOPAB as a Brazilian Army Educational Organization. It also aimed at explaining the educational activities, the trainings and the qualifications delivered by Sergio Vieira de Mello Center.
AMAN is a university-level institution which is in charge of preparing officers (combatants) of the Brazilian Army. Its history dates back to 1810, with the creation of the Royal Military Academy by Prince Regent Don João; initially occupying the facilities of the ‘House of the Train’, in Rio de Janeiro, which currently is the installations of the National Historical Museum.
Nowadays, the educational principles of the Military Academy are based on modern methodological concepts, seeking to build the required competences to prepare the leaders of the ‘Age of Knowledge’.
Having knowledge, skills and attitudes forged by civic and moral values and by the historical roots and traditions of the Brazilian Army, it is at AMAN that the future officer develops his/her military virtues, becoming a professional with the noblest feelings at the service of the Brazilian Nation, committed to the Army and capable of taking part in the defense of the Homeland.
