CCOPAB contributes towards the “More Brazilians for Peace” Program (MB4P)
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center – Sergio Vieira de Mello Center – a Brazilian Army Educational organization, supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education – has been contributing towards the More Brazilians for Peace Program (MB4P), of the Land Operations Command (COTER, acronym in Portuguese).
MB4P program, the responsibility of the State Police and Fire Department General Inspectorate (IGPM/COTER), aims at clarifying, disseminating and raising awareness on the importance of the participation of national police component in UN peacekeeping operations; thus, strengthening the role of Brazil as a traditional Police Contributing Country (PCC) in the UN system.
Then, from 20 September to 12 November 2021, in the context of the United Nations Police Course (EPMP 2021.2), CCOPAB has been training State police personnel who will soon be deployed as UNPOL.
Currently, five representatives from PMBA, PMES, PMPE, PMRN and PMSC are taking the UNPOL Course (2021.2), in accordance with the curriculum set by the UN Department of Peace Operations - Core Pre-Deployment Training Material and Specialized Training Material - preparing them to hold IPO functions in the field.
Apart from the teaching staff of Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, the teaching-learning process has also been supported by guest instructors from the following institutions: BMRS, PMERJ, PMESP and PMRN.
CCOPAB’s United Nations Police Course is certified by the UN DPO Integrated Training Service.
