CCOPAB takes part in virtual seminar carried by the “International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)”

Rio de Janeiro, RJ. On 13 October 2021, instructors and monitors from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, Sergio Vieira de Mello Center – a Brazilian Army training center subordinate to Department of Military Technical Education (DETMIL, acronym in Portuguese), participated, on video conference, in the Second Journey of a virtual seminar conducted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The activity addressed the theme “Memory and Conflicts” in the context of the International Humanitarian Law Meeting (IHL): the current challenges of the IHL in Latin America seminar. In today’s session, the ICRC relied on the participation of civilian lecturers from Colombia, Panama and Peru.

In the context of CCOPAB, the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is a highly relevant theme, once it’s widespread in the scope of the Peacekeeping Operations pre-deployment training under the supervision of international organizations (UN and OAS).
