CCOPAB and the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action
CCOPAB is a military organization whose mission is to support the preparation of military, police and civilian personnel, from Brazil and friendly nations, for peace operations and humanitarian demining missions; it is constantly seeking to become an international reference, when it comes to the preparation of human resources to be deployed to PK missions.
In relation to Humanitarian Demining, CCOPAB has carried out nine editions of the Mine Action course for officers and NCOs; and in the year of 2019, the Center sent a Mobile Training Team to support military personnel in the Republic of Ecuador.
Those activities demonstrate the expertise of CCOPAB when preparing and carrying out such specific trainings. During courses, there were significant support and substantial cooperation from the Engineering Training Center in Araguari-MG.
The 04 April of each year shall be observed as the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.
Therefore, in order to celebrate this date, promoting awareness and educating the public on issues of concern, CCOPAB carried out, on 06 April, a presentation on land mines in several regions of the world, as well as the relevance of preparing nationals and foreign military personnel to work in Humanitarian Demining missions under the aegis of international organizations.
The commander of CCOPAB and members of the Center directly involved with the Mine Action Course took part in the activity.
