Itaipava (RJ). From 02 to 05 March 2020, the Army Department of Education and Culture (DECEX, acronym in Portuguese) carried out Itaipava Meeting XII, counting on the presence of directors, chiefs and commanders from military organizations under the Army System of Education and Culture (SECEX, acronym in Portuguese) in order to discuss topics related to Education, Culture, Physical Education, Sports, Research and Military Management.

On that occasion, the Chief of DECEX, General Tomás Miguel Miné Ribeiro Paiva, presented his directives for SECEX as a response to educational challenges resulting from national and international contexts. His directives were aligned with the Army Strategic Plan and they indicate that the unity of members from SECEX to tackle those challenges is a goal to be reached.

The Itaipava Meeting leveled the knowledge of members from SECEX on the challenges of the 21st century for Military, Preparatory and Supporting Education. The idea is to integrate actions with the Army Strategic Plan, the Department of Science and Technology, the Army Social Communication and the Army Doctrine Center in oder to come up with effective answers for the graduation, extension and specialization of human resources in the Brazilian Army.

The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center was represented by COL Márcio Carneiro Barbosa, CCOPAB Commander.
