CCOPAB takes part in Civil-Military Cooperation Staff Officers Course in Canada

Kingston, (Canadá). From 27 January to 14 February, CPT (Armor) Guilherme Henrique de Souza, from the Division of Education and Training of CCOPAB, took part as an instructor of the CIMIC Staff Officers Course carried out in the Peace Support Training Center (PSTC) in Kingston, Canada.

The course objective was to prepare military personnel to work as Chief or Assistant of the CIMIC Cell (G9) in the tactical and operational levels, involving planning, direction and CIMIC information sharing in order to contribute to the operational planning process (OPP).

Besides having CPT Henrique from the Brazilian Army, the course invited other international instructors from USA and Germany.

The target audience of the CIMIC Staff Officers Course was officers and NCOs. Twelve students were present - eight from the Canadian Armed Forces and four from other countries, such as MAJ Sergio Roberto Prata Monteiro from the Brazilian Air Force.

The participation of Brazilian military personnel in educational activities like that reinforces the objective of our National Center to be an international reference of human resources training for Peace Operations.

The CIMIC Course offered at CCOPAB is internationally recognized and certified by the United Nations Department of Peace Operations.
