The French Army Commander of the Operational National Theater visits CCOPAB

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On 8 April, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, was visited by LTG Christian Bailly, the French Army Commander of the Operational National Theater, who was followed closely by LTG Antônio Manoel de Barros (Commander of the 1st Army Division), COL Charles Orlianges (Military Attaché from the French Air Force in Brazil) and COL Pascal Frances (an assistant from the French Commander).

After military honors, Lieutenant Commander (Navy) Elder, subcommander of CCOPAB, presented the officers from CCOPAB to both LTG Bailly and Barros. Afterwards, there was the opening of the French Lab, which was a donation of the Security Cooperation Management and French Defense. The French Lab was named after Marshal José Pessoa Cavalcanti de Albuquerque, a Brazilian military leader who fought with the French in the First World War.

Yet, Diplomas of Studies in the French Language (DELF, acronym in Portuguese) were given to those who passed the French test. Finally, there was an exchange of institutional tokens and the signing of CCOPAB’s book of honour.
