CCOPAB prepares State Police for peace missions.

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, Sérgio Vieira de Mello Center, aims at training military, police and civilian personnel from Brazil and friendly nations to work in peace mission and humanitarian demining. There are five members of State Police taking the current Military Experts on Mission (UNPOL) course (EPMP, acronym in Portuguese): MAJ Ana Cássia Nogueira Monteiro - Acre State Police (PMAC, acronym in Portuguese); CPT Thiago Cardoso Souza - Alagoas State Police (PMAL, acronym in Portuguese); 1LT Reveison Carvalho dos Anjos - Alagoas State Police (PMAL, acronym in Portuguese); CPL Meijores de Omena Tenório - Alagoas State Police (PMAL, acronym in Portuguese); and PV Simone dos Santos Hoisler Siqueira - Rio Grande do Sul State Police (BMRS, acronym in Portuguese).

In order to train state police personnel the best way possible, CCOPAB received guest instructors that could share their experiences in PKOs. The following instructors delivered presentations on UN Police duties, Security and Risk, Hostage Survival etc.: MAJ PMERJ Fernandes (CCOPAB); MAJ Shawn Cooper (Canada); COL PMERJ André Silva (Liaison Officer of the Federal Intervention Cabinet in Rio); and COL (Ret.) PMESP Helio .
