CCOPAB and Igarapé Institute deliver lectures to diplomacy students at Rio Branco Institute

Brasília, (DF) - On the afternoon of 09 November, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center and Igarapé Institute delivered lectures to diplomacy students at Rio Branco Institute - an organization directly linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Eduarda Hamann, a representative of Igarapé Institute, showed students the current situation of Brazilian civilians deployed in unstable environments. Next, Major Christiane Lima talked about Gender Perspectives in unstable environments and then, Captain Valdetaro delivered an institutional lecture about CCOPAB, highlighting its capabilities, courses and trainings, notably, the training of civilians to work in unstable environments (EPCAAI, acronym in Portuguese).

Besides strengthening the bonds and consolidating the partnership with Rio Branco Institute, the objective of CCOPAB was to provide diplomacy students with basic notions of safety and security, once these Brazilian professionals may be designated to work in friendly nations, characterized by unstable environments.

Secretary Ricardo Rizzo, from the Department of International Organizations, welcomed the delegation at the event. There were 36 students - Brazilians and foreigners - in the activity.
