CCOPAB carries out CIMIC Course

Between June 18 and 21, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out one more edition of the Civil-Military Coordination Course (CIMIC). The aim of the course is to disseminate knowledge among those who will work with coordination within the United Nations.

The Course had 40 attendees, out of which 20 civilians and 20 military personnel from the Armed Forces and Police. It was an opportunity to integrate knowledge and train participants to work with coordination in future deployments by means of the Brazilian agreement of the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (UNPCRS).

The instructors of the course are known for their large expertise in international contexts, particularly in Civil-Military Coordination in UN peace operations. They are: Colonel Mercês (Brazil); Colonel Tamrat (Ethiopia); Colonel Roberto Gil (Uruguay); Colonel Hélio (Brazil), Colonel Ubiratan (Brazil); Major Peter Chilvers (United Kingdom); Captain Bittencourt (Brazil); Bia Albernaz (Brazil); Francesca Bernabibi (Italy); Renata Gianini (Brazil); Manoel de Almeida (Brazila); Maurizio Giuliano (UN); Rubem César (Brazil); and Sasa Loncaric (Croatia).
