U.S. Defense Delegation visits CCOPAB
On October 4, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) received the visit of Mr Sergio De La Pena, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs, and his delegation. The aim of the visit was at strengthening the bonds of cooperation between Brazil and the United States.
Colonel Ramires, commander of CCOPAB, delivered a lecture to the visitors on the activities the Center carries out regarding the training of military, police and civilian personnel from Brazil and from Friendly Nations for peace operations and mine action.
The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Center, such as Delta Camp, which will accommodate the teaching physival structure as classrooms and a library. Expected to be opened in October, Delta Camp will provide students with the most modern teaching structure at the moment.
