CCOPAB certifies Squads and Platoons from BRABAT 26

On 22 April, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), by means of an After Action Review (AAR), ended the first week of the UN Pre-deployment Advanced Field Exercise (EAOP, acronym in Portuguese). As per the UN guidelines and procedures, EAOP aims to certify the Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT) to be deployed as the 26th contingent for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).

The objective of the AAR was to disseminate possibilities of improvement and emphasize the best practices for Squads and Platoons. Thereupon, the troops involved received the certification to be deployed in MINUSTAH from the hands of Colonel Carlos Augusto Ramires Teixeira, Commander of CCOPAB. MG Mário Fernandes, Commander of the 12th Light Infantry Brigade (Airmobile) and coordinator of the preparation, was present at the AAR.

After the certification of the Squads and Platoons, EAOP is moving towards the second week, in order to certify the subunits and the Staff of the Brazilian Battalion.
