CCOPAB’s member stands out in Course in Spain

Between February 6 and March 31, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) attended the 6th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Course (EOD-3). The course was held in the Demining International Center of the Spanish Army Engineer Academy, in Hoyo de Manzanares. Captain Henrique Siniciato Terra Garbino, CCOPAB’s instructor, stood out among other trainees during the course by getting the highest grades of all.

The goal of the course is to train member nations of the Organization of American States (OAS) to deactivate and neutralize conventional explosive devices. During the course, the trainees were given instructions of: anti mine actions; ammunition caliber 155mm maximum; conventional explosives; humanitarian demining procedures; identification techniques, detection and protection against mines; neutralization and deactivation of explosive charges; planning and demining operations; quality management; basic vital support and Psychology. At the end, the trainees could put the planning and humanitarian demining execution into practice by using exercise mines. Twelve military personnel attended the course in Spain, being three from Brazil, three from Colombia, two from Paraguay, two from Ecuador, one from Honduras and one from Uruguay.
