Second day of the Course for Military Translators and Interpreters (ETIMil)
On August 6, the second day of the Course for Military Translators and Interpreters (ETIMil), the apprentices appointed as English and French translators and interpreters were divided into two different groups.
Those English translators and interpreters appointees began their activities with Lieutenant Colonel Carla Beatriz concerning "Technical Translation Workshop". After that, those apprentices joined the instructions for the Course for Unit Commanders and Staff (EPCOEM) of the 19th Brazilian Contingent (19º CONTBRAS) of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH, acronym in French) in order to act as interpreters during the presentation on "The Use of Interpreters by BRABAT's and BRAENGCOY's Staff". In the afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel Carla Beatriz headed the "Simultaneous Interpretation Workshop in a Booth" and Major Ivana Mara headed the "Consecutive Interpretation Workshop".
The French translators and interpreters appointees began their activities with Professor Ms Michele concerning "Workshops on Technical Translation and Simultaneous Interpretation". After that, the apprentices acted as interpreters in the instructions of the Course for Unit Commanders and Staff (EPCOEM) on "The Use of Interpreters by BRABAT's and BRAENGCOY's Staff". After that, the apprentices continued their activities with Professor Dr Diogo on "Technical Translation Workshop", and Captain Béraud on "Consecutive Interpretation Workshop".
