To prepare civilians that need to work in unstable environments due to their mission or special activities is the main goal of this course developed by CCOPAB in partnership with Igarapé Institute. About 25% of the countries that Brazil maintained technical cooperation in this century are considered fragile because of conflicts, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OCDE, acronym in Portuguese) and the World Bank.
The Brazilian office of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) carried out the Safe and Secure Approaches in Field Environments Course (SSAFE) in partnership with the Brazilian Peace Operation Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese). The course took place in the facilities of Itamaraty Palace and of CCOPAB from 29 November to 01 December.
CCOPAB carried out the DPKO Recruitment and Preparation Course (EPEC DPKO, acronym in Portuguese) from 29 November to 01 December. The aim of the course is to train the Brazilian military personnel to run for office in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
Between 31 October and 25 November, CCOPAB carried out the Military Experts on Mission Course (EPMP, acronym in Portuguese). It trains the military personnel who were assigned to UN Peacekeeping Operations to perform as Staff Officers or Military Observers.
Nairobi (Kenya) – From 28 November to 09 December, the Chief of the Division of Translators and Interpreters of CCOPAB, Major CHRISTIANE LIMA, will be participating in the 5th Female Military Officers Course (FMOC), organized by UN Women, in cooperation with the Kenyan International Peace Support Training Center (KIPSTC).
Cairo (Egypt) - From 9-19 October, MAJ IGOR (Brazilian Air Force) participated in the United Nations Training of Trainers (ToT) Course on Core Pre-deployment Training Materials (CPTM). He is the chief of the Individual Missions' Section of the Education and Training Division of CCOPAB.
