Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On 26 May, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out a ceremony to celebrate the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, which is to take place on 29 May. This date was established by the United Nations (UN) to recognise the professionalism, dedication and courage of men and women who have served and continue to serve in peacekeeping operations.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - From 14 March 2022 to 20 May 2022, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) carried out the 2022.1 edition of the UNSO, UNMO and UNPOL courses (EPMP, acronym in Portuguese), having trained 26 military students, out of which 11 were from the Brazilian Army, seven from the Brazilian Navy, four from the Brazilian Air Force, two State Police Officers, and two officers from Friendly Nations: Indonesia and Namibia.
Guatemala City (Guatemala) - From 15 to 20 May 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Adriano José do Nascimento, from the Brazilian Air Force, and Captain Camila de Almeida Paiva, from the Brazilian Army, both instructors at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), participated in the international meeting to review and update the Implementing Guidelines for the Protection of Civilians for Military Components of UN Peacekeeping Missions.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 16 May 2022, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) received an entourage of two instructors from ECEME and 11 foreign military students from Argentina, Chile, Germany, Guatemala, Mexico, Namibia, Paraguay, Suriname, The United States and Uruguay.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - From 4 April to 6 May 2022, 2nd Lieutenant Isabela Aiolfi, Physician at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), took part in the Field Medical Assistance Course, coordinated by the Medical Detachment of the Airborne Infantry Brigade.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On 5 May 2022, Dr. Eduarda Hamman, General Coordinator of the Brazilian Peace Operations Research Network (REBRAPAZ), delivered a lecture on “Civil-Military Coordination in the United Nations (UN CIMIC): a civilian perspective” to students of the UNMO, UNSO and UNPOL courses, at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB).
