CCOPAB sends instructor to Course in Switzerland
Stans (Switzerland) - From 16 June to 8 July, Major Bruno Becker, from the Brazilian Air Force, and a member of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), participated as an instructor in the Swiss United Nations Military Observer Course – SUNMOC, held at the Swiss Armed Forces International Command – SWISSINT.
Lasting for 23 days, the course had several theoretical and practical instructions that addressed the Core Pre-deployment Training Materials (CPTM) and the Specialized Training Materials (STM). Apart from Swiss military personnel, there were military students from Egypt, Gambia, Georgia, Guinea, Iran, Kazakhstan, Morocco, the Netherlands, and Pakistan.
It is important to highlight the last practical exercise of the course, which relied on the collaboration of Peacekeeping Training Centers from Austria, Germany and The Netherlands, which together with Switzerland, form the “Fo(u)r Peace Central Europe, 4PCE” - a partnership between those four similar organizations. It is like the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (ALCOPAZ, acronym in Spanish), which the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center is a member of.
The participation of the Brazilian soldier in the training of foreign students is aligned with CCOPAB's vision of the future - to be an international reference in promoting excellence in the continuous training of human resources working in peace operations and humanitarian demining missions.
In addition to military personnel from Switzerland and Major Becker from Brazil, there were also military instructors from Canada, Finland, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, and Sweden.
