A Ceremony of handing over the green beret to new recruits
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 28 April 2022, the ceremony of handing over the olive green beret to the 34 newly-recruited privates was held at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB).
Family members and friends of the privates attended the ceremony, which was presided over by CCOPAB Commander; he handed over the beret and an award to PVT Ronny da Costa who stood out among his peers during the Basic Combat Training (BCT).
Handing over the beret represents the conclusion of the first phase of military training, when privates are able to join combat fractions, after having overcome stiff weeks of theoretical and practical instructions as well as in field exercises. The military and civilian values acquired during this training phase will be useful for future missions those privates will receive in the Brazilian Army.
