CCOPAB contributes to the preparation of military personnel applying for positions at the UN Secretariat (New York)
Rio de Janeiro, RJ - From September 20th to 24th, 2021, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - a Brazilian Army training center subordinated to the Board of Technical Military Education (DETMIL) - conducted the Internship for Preparation of Candidates for the Secretariat of the United Nations Organization (Department of Peace Operations/DPO).
The objective of the training was to improve language skills (consolidation and improvement of written, listening, and oral comprehension) in order to provide better technical conditions for the trainees who are now applying for positions at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA.
Performed entirely in English, all participants were able to practice the challenges they will be submitted to during the recruiting process, namely interviews and written tests.
According to paragraph 3 of Article 101 of the United Nations Charter, "The paramount consideration in the employment of the staff and in the determination of the conditions of service shall be the necessity of securing the highest standards of efficiency, competence, and integrity".
In this edition, eight Brazilian Army Officers, selected by the Army Commander's Office after a careful and rigorous selection process, successfully concluded the program.
