CCOPAB takes part in the UN Police Training Architecture Programme

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 20 May 2021, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center- Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - a Brazilian Army Educational Organization supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education took part in an online seminar as part of the United Nations Police Training Architecture Programme.

The programme is a joint effort of the UN Police Division and the Integrated Training Service (ITS) - both from the UN Department of Peace Operations - along with Police Contributing Countries (PCC).

1LT Elaine Pereira MELERE from Paraná State Police, a CCOPAB instructor, is a member of the Curriculum Development Group/CDG 03 (Monitoring, Mentoring & Capacity Building) together with police officers from Germany, France, The Netherlands, Nepal, Portugal, and others.

The main objective of the programme is to come up with continuous preparation (performance and efficiency) for UNPOLs deployed to peace missions. At the moment, CDG 03 is on the phase of revising recent doctrine updates, so they can be part of UNPOL training before deployment.

From September 2019 to April 2020, 1LT Melere was deployed to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), as an Individual Police Officer in Bentiu PoC Camp.
