CCOPAB delivers another edition of the Journalists and Media Advisors in Conflict Areas Course

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - From 31 August to 04 September, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center carried out the Journalists and Media Advisors in Conflict Areas Course (EPJAIAC), in order to train journalists and media advisors to accomplish their professional activities in armed conflict areas or in peace missions under the aegis of the United Nations.

During the course, the students received instructions on communication, negotiation, first aid, firefighting, risk analysis and mitigation, minefield awareness, chemical biological radiological and nuclear defense (CBRND), and the like.

Under the supervision of the Brazilian Army Social Communication Center (CCOMSEX), 28 press agents and media professionals attended this course edition:

National – Communication Advisory from the Ministry of Defense -ASCOM, Brazilian Company of Communication - EBC, Record Rio TV Channel, Record TV Channel, Folha de SP Newspaper, Aratu TV Channel/SBT-BA, SBT Rio TV Channel, FCSS Photography, Morena TV Channel, RIC Paraná Group, Ynfluence.BR, Evangelizar TV Channel, O Globo Newspaper, Defesa TV Channel, Panorâmica FM Radio Station, Rede Amazônica Group, Rede TV Channel, Santa Maria’s Diary, O Globo/ Extra, Tucumã Web Portal, Band News Radio Station, Contax TNL, O Dia and O Progresso Newspapers; and
International – France 24, France 2, Journal Ouest France and TV5 Monde.

It is important to highlight the participations as well as the presentations of Vice-Admiral (Marine Corps) Carlos Chagas, Special Advisor of Communication at the Ministry of Defense (MoD); Captain (Navy) Ricardo Guimarães, from the Brazilian Navy Social Communication Center; Colonel Guerra and Colonel Carlos Cinelli, from the Brazilian Army Social Communication Center; and Colonel Feijó, from the Brazilian Air Force Social Communication Center.
