CCOPAB starts the exercises to assess and certify the Brazilian Engineering Company of Peacekeeping Operations (BRAENGCOY)
Aquidauana (MS) - On 01 May, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) started the UN Pre-deployment Advanced Field Exercise (EAOP) addressed to the Brazilian Engineering Company (BRAENGCOY) that will compose the 24th Brazilian Contingent for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).
The opening ceremony was led by Colonel Carlos Augusto Ramires Teixeira, CCOPAB Commander and Director of EAOP. The Colonel took the opportunity to stress that assessing and certifying military personnel who will be deployed for peacekeeping operations are the pillars of CCOPAB's mission.
This is the final stage of the Company's preparation, which will last from 01-05 May. Many situations found in Haiti will be depicted on the streets of Aquidauana. EAOP has the participation of military personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force, including 120 from BRAENGCOY and 45 that work in the coordination, setting and security for the exercise.
On the second half of May, BRAENGCOY will start its deployment to Haiti for a six-month mission.
