CCOPAB certifies BRABAT-24
Cristalina (GO) - On 29 April, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) realized the After Action Review (AAR) of the second week of the UN Pre-deployment Advanced Field Exercise (EAOP). EAOP is the final exercise of the troops in preparation for the Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT - acronym in English) that will compose the 24th Brazilian Contingent for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH, acronym in French). The AAR aims to spread the opportunities of improvement and stress the best practices of the Staff and Unit levels.
Colonel José Arnon dos Santos Guerra, BRABAT-24 Commander and Colonel Carlos Augusto Ramires Teixeira, CCOPAB Commander and Director of EAOP were present at the AAR and it was ended by Major General Heber Garcia Portella, Commander of the 3rd Motorized Infantry Brigade.
During the second week of the exercise, BRABAT-24, composed of military personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force, was employed to react to incidents which simulated situations which may happen in Haiti and to prepare documents routinely made at MINUSTAH.
At the opportunity, all subunit commanders and Chiefs of Staff received their certification from the hands of CCOPAB Commander. To close the ceremony, Colonel Ramires handed Colonel Guerra the certification that BRABAT-24 is apt to be deployed to MINUSTAH, as required by the United Nations.
