CCOPAB certifies BRABAT 24's Squads and Platoons

Cristalina (GO) - On April 23, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) carried out the After Action Review (AAR) of the first week of the UN Pre-deployment Advanced Field Exercise (EAOP, acronym in Portuguese) designed for troops in preparation for the Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT), which will be part of the 24th Brazilian Contingent for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH, acronym in French), with the objective to disseminate opportunities to improve and highlight best practices at Squad's and Platoon's levels.

Major General Heber Garcia Portella, Commander of the 3rd Motorized Infantry Brigade, started the AAR, during which Colonel José Arnon dos Santos Guerra, BRABAT Commander, and Colonel Carlos Augusto Ramires Teixeira, CCOPAB Commander and Director of EAOP were also present.

During the first week of the exercise, BRABAT, composed of military personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force, was employed to react to incidents which simulated situations which may happen in Haiti.
At the opportunity, all squads and platoons received, from the hands of CCOPAB Commander, the certification saying they are apt to be deployed to MINUSTAH.
