Beginning of the 2nd Week of EAOP - BRABAT 23
Pelotas (RS) - The beginning of the second week of the UN Pre-Deployment Advanced Field Exercise (EAOP, acronym in Portuguese) had patrols, support to injured Haitians, rescue of a UN employee surrounded by demonstrators, among others.
On October 19, officers from France, Angola, India and Portugal visited the exercise in order to know how a Brazilian battalion is trained for a UN peace mission.
On October 20, the Chief of the Operations Coordination Center of the Southern Military Command (CCOp/CMS, acronym in Portuguese), Lieutenant General Fernando Rodrigues Goulart, accompanied by the 8th Motorized Infantry Brigade Commander, Major General André Luiz Silveira, were present at the exercise. They could get to know the aspects of this last training phase of BRABAT 23.
