Pre-deployment advanced maritime exercise in the Ocean Patrol Vessel Apa

From 26 March to 10 April, the pre-deployment advanced maritime exercise was carried out in the Ocean Patrol Vessel (NaPaOc, acronym in Portuguese) Apa - a ship designated to be the flagship of the Maritime Task Force in UNIFIL.

Several instructions and lectures were given on the ship by Lieutenant Commander Marcelo, CCOPAB instructor. Operational activities, Damage control exercises in different levels, shooting exercises, and maritime interdiction operations (MIO) with no approach or having a cooperative approach were carried out.

CCOPAB was in charge of the theoretical classes and the maritime interdiction operational exercises (MIO), which represent the main mission of the Brazilian Navy ships in the maritime operational area in Lebanon. The twelve MIO exercises carried out with the NaPaOc Apa allowed the teams which occupy the bridge as well as the Center of Combat Operations to be familiarized with the rules of engagement and the mission mandate.
