VILA MILITAR, RJ – In the morning of May 16, 2014, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) delivered the berets to the soldiers of 2014.
Their families were present at the ceremony in which they ended another cycle in their military formation.
Mr. Jonas Farias de Souza, Private Farias' father, expressed the happiness to see his son serving the Army, especially at CCOPAB: "It's gratifying to know that my son is in good hands. I fully trust the Army and know that he will mature and become a more responsible citizen. Knowing what CCOPAB means to Brazil, makes us even happier".
Businessman João Carlos Viana de Almeida, Private Almeida's father, was touched and proud to see his son being awarded a medal for having stood out on the field. "To me, who served the Army at REI, 25 years ago, it is a pride to see my son here, especially standing out. Serving the Army will be very good for his formation as a citizen, as it was for me".
Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes, CCOPAB Commander, addressed the new soldiers highlighting that the beret represents not only victory over physical and psychological limits, but also companionship, patriotism and faith in Brazil. At the end of the ceremony, he congratulated them all for their achievement.
