Civil-Military Coordination Course (CIMIC)

Between March 10 and 14, the Civil-Military Coordination Course (CIMIC) was carried out at Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Facility. The aim of the course was to prepare the military personnel of the 20th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti. They are to be deployed in May of 2014 to carry out activities which are directly and indirectly connected to the coordination between the civil and military components of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).

The course had military and civilian lecturers who are known internationally, especially for their knowledge of UN Peace Operations. Moreover, there were 36 students among whom 08 were civilians, 27 were from the Brazilian Armed Forces (05 from the Navy, 19 from the Army and 03 from the Air Force), and 01 military officer from the Chilean Navy.
