First week of the Course for Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders [EPCOSUPEL,

From 10 to 14 February 2014, the students of the Course for Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders [EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese] of the 20th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti [20 CONTBRAS, acronym in Portuguese] had lectures on PKOs focusing on United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti [MINUSTAH, acronym in French]. They also practiced First-Aid, had notions of IHL focusing on the UN, and trained shooting in the simulator room. In the field, they exercised the use of non-lethal weapons in the field as well as combat techniques in an urban environment in Gericinó Training Center [CIG, acronym in Portuguese] and in the Center for the Preparation of Rio de Janeiro State Police Enlisted [CFAP/PMERJ, acronyms in Portuguese].
On the fifth day, 14 February 2014, the students had notions of media relations. They also took a test about the topics they learned up to then. Soon after that, the Closing Ceremony of the Course for Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders [EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese] delivered to the Support Coy (Army) and to the Support/Combat Component (Navy), both of them as fractions of BRABAT, was carried out and chaired by Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Carlos Alberto de Moraes Cavalcanti . On the other hand, the other students will continue the aforementioned course.
