On October 27, there was another meeting for the adaptation to EAOP of the officers and sergeants who compose BRABAT – 19th Contingent; the meeting was held at the auditorium of the Preparatory School of Brazilian Army Cadets (EsPCEx).

The exercise will take place from October 27 to November 1 in the area of Campinas, São Paulo. It will be coordinated by the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB), the military unit settled in the city of Rio de Janeiro/RJ whose mission is to support the preparation of military personnel, police officers and civilians from Brazil and friendly nations for peacekeeping missions and humanitarian demining missions. EAOP is the exercise that takes place at the end of the preparation phase of the Brazilian battalion which will be deployed in Haiti as of December 2013.

The group being prepared at the 11th Light Infantry Brigade, settled in the city of Campinas, is composed by military personnel from the Brazilian Navy, Army and Air Force, as well as by those from friendly nations like Canada and Paraguay. The exercise held in the municipalities of Campinas, Nova Odessa and Sumaré aims at assessing the preparation, the training and the professional capability in a peacekeeping operation and at consolidating the sprit de corps and the feeling of mission accomplishment among the members of the contingent. Through the one-week period of intense activities, they will undergo situations which simulate those that may occur while they are stationed in Haiti.
