CCOPAB’s Commander participates in ALCOPAZ’s 5th Assembly
The 5th General Assembly of the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Operations Training Centers (ALCOPAZ) was started on August 20.
ALCOPAZ is an initiative of the countries that compound the Latin American region in order to establish mechanisms for the interchange of experiences regarding training and empowerment of human resources for the participation in Peacekeeping Operations.
The 2013 meeting is held in Ecuador. The delegation representing Brazil is made up by military personnel from the Ministry of Defense, the Army and the Navy and is led by the Commander of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) Colonel Baganha.
On the first day of the event, CCOPAB's Commander presented the results reached by the Military Committee of ALCOPAZ in the light of the plan of action in course.
On the second day, Colonel Baganha presented a lecture concerning CCOPAB, more specifically its structure, work and different training activities.
The General Assembly will close on August 23 with a military ceremony held at the Military School of Ecuador. As part of the program of that event, the former presidents of the Association will be rendered honors, among whom is Lieutenant General Wiliams José Soares, who headed the Association in the period of 2009 through 2010.
