A committee from the Brazilian Ministry of Defense visits CCOPAB
On July 29, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) hosted a committee from the Brazilian Ministry of Defense made up by senior staff officers from the Brazilian Navy, Brazilian Army and Brazilian Air Force.
The welcoming presentation by CCOPAB's Commander Colonel Baganha focused on the organization, the mission and the work done at the Center, as well as the courses offered and the participation of Brazilian military personnel in peacekeeping missions nowadays. After that, the committee enjoyed a tour through CCOPAB's facilities which included "Integration" Pavilion (where the Training System for the Use of Legal Force, or Combat Simulator, is installed) and Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Center, which now has the exhibitions "Rondon, the Marshal of Peace", "Sports, Development and Peace" and "Peacekeeping Missions".
The committee from the Brazilian Ministry of Defense was composed by the Chief of Joint Operations General (Air Force) Ricardo Machado Vieira, the Deputy Chief of Joint Operations Lieutenant General (Army) Eduardo José Barbosa, the Deputy Chief of Operations Vice Admiral Luiz Henrique Caroli, the Deputy Chief of Operational Logistics Lieutenant General (Army) Paulo Sergio Melo de Carvalho, the Deputy Chief of Command and Control Major General (Air Force) Ricardo Pucci Magalhães, the Deputy Chief of Operational Intelligence Rear Admiral José Luiz Correa da Silva, the Assistant of the Deputy Chief of Operational Logistics Colonel Sergio Jurandir Souto Campanaro, the Chief Assistant of Doctrine and Legislation Colonel Senna and the Chief of the Planning and Management Section of the Army's Personnel Cabinet (1ª Subchefia) Colonel Bragança.
