Third day of the Couse on POC
In the morning of the third day of the Course on Protection of Civilians (POC), July 24, the apprentices began their activities with a lecture by Chilean journalist Jorge Canales concerning "Prevention and Response to Violence caused by Sexual Abuse".
After that, the apprentices were divided into groups and introduced to the scenario of the fictitious country CARANA as well as of UNAC, the UN mission in that country, so that they could start the study cases suggested by the course coordination.
In the afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel Frachele, from the Uruguayan Army, presented the first scenario base for the study case concerning CARANA.
The apprentices participating in the course are military personnel from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay, as well as one representative of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a Master-degree student of the International Affairs College of Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
