National Day of Argentina and birthday celebrations
On May 23, 2013, the National Day of Argentina was celebrated with a lecture by Major Torrengo, an Argentine officer posted at the Center as part of the cooperation program between that country and Brazil. The event was in honor of the 203 years past the first government was established in that friendly nation. On May 25, 1810, there was the declaration of the Argentine Republic. On that occasion, the so called "criollos" deposed the representatives of the Spanish Crow and started a war which lasted more than 20 years and granted freedom to the South American continent under the Spanish domain.
Some hours later still on May 23, CCOPAB members joined for the celebration in honor of the birthdays occurred in the period from January to May 2013. The event took place at the facilities of the 11th Combat Artillery Group, a military unit neighboring the Center, and was highlighted by sport activities and a typical Brazilian barbecue.
