Braengcoy - First day

 The Peacekeeping Operations Advanced Drill (EAOP) of the 18th Contingent of BRAENGCOY started on April 27 (Saturday) in the city of Pindamonhangaba- State of São Paulo. The drill involved 400 personnel among military, civilians and police officers. The drill is the last step of the preparation of the Engineering Company which will be deployed in Haiti for the second semester of 2013. The drill is coordinated by the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) and the Brazilian Army Engineering Department (DEC). Besides these agents, the military drill counts on the support and participation of the 2nd Combat Engineering Battalion and the local society in order to contribute for the training of the military personnel who will compose the engineering subunit. The simulated activities aim at depicting the possible situations to be faced in that friendly country due to the tasks accomplished by the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). In this scope, the military personnel do their job in a multidimensional environment and have a deep understanding of the peculiarities of integration with the different actors who are present in that area of peacekeeping operation.
