Beginning of the Course for Unit Commanders and Staff Officers 2013/1
February 04, 2013 was the day of the beginning of the Course for Unit Commanders and Staff Officers for the 18th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti. The activity started with the welcoming meeting with three officers from the Canadian Army.
In that occasion, the Commander of BRABAT/18, COL ZENEDIR DA MOTA FONTOURA, said how pleased he was for hosting them and for counting on the support of that friendly nation to proceed in the noble mission of keeping a stable and safe environment in Haiti (picture 1).
The apprentices attended a lecture by CCOPAB's Commander COL LUIZ FERNANDO ESTORILHO BAGANHA concerning the creation, organization, peculiarities and the courses offered at the Center (picture 2). After that, the apprentices attended the opening class presented by Mr. Jackson Bien Aimé, the Counselor of the Embassy of Haiti in Brazil, and could have the first contact with cultural and behavioral aspects from that Caribbean country. The words of Mr. Aimé also proved how thankful Haitian people are for the work developed by the Brazilian troops since MINUSTAH has settled in Haiti (picture 3).
