Protection of Civilians Course (UN POC)

The Protection of Civilians Course (POC) conducted at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) aims to provide students with a comprehensive training package that combines aspects of Protection of Civilians, Child Protection, and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence for military personnel operating at the tactical level in a Peace Operation.

Duration

The Protection of Civilians Course lasts a total of three weeks, developed in two phases: the first phase lasting two weeks in a distance learning modality, and the second phase lasting one week, conducted at CCOPAB facilities.

1st Edition

Distance Learning Phase: June 16 to 27, 2025; and
In-person Phase: June 30 to July 4, 2025.

2nd Edition

Distance Learning Phase: November 17 to 28, 2025; and
In-person Phase: December 1 to 5, 2025.

Requirements

To enroll in the Protection of Civilians Course, the candidate must be an officer, warrant officer, or career sergeant of the Brazilian Army, other Regular Forces, Auxiliary Forces, and Armed Forces of Friendly Nations. Candidates should be assigned to a UN mission or about to be deployed. English proficiency is required.
