High Intensity Language Training (HILT)

The Peace Mission Preparation Course is conducted at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), which aims to prepare military and police personnel from Brazil and allied nations for roles as United Nations Staff Officers, Military Observers, and UN Police in peace operations under the auspices of the United Nations (UN). Specifically, the intensive language preparation phase in English and French (High Intensity Language Training – HILT) is essential for the effective performance of military and police personnel in peacekeeping missions where they will be deployed.

Duration

The HILT lasts a total of three weeks and is conducted in person at CCOPAB facilities.

1st Edition: May 12 to 30, 2025.
2nd Edition: September 13 to 31, 2025.

Requirements

To enroll in the Peace Mission Preparation Course - HILT, the candidate must be an officer, warrant officer, or career sergeant of the Brazilian Army, other Regular and Auxiliary Forces, and Armed Forces of Friendly Nations, assigned to a UN mission or about to be deployed. Proficiency in English is required and proficiency in French is desirable.
