Hostile Environment Awareness Training for Civilians (HEAT-C)

The Hostile Environment Awareness Training for Civilians (HEAT-C) is conducted at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB). It aims to raise awareness about the importance of preparing civilians to operate in unstable environments and to provide basic security and protection concepts for Brazilian professionals who work or will soon work in unstable environments, either in technical cooperation projects or in UN peacekeeping or special political missions.

Duration

The course lasts a total of one week in an in-person modality and is scheduled to be held in 2026.

Requirements

To enroll in the Hostile Environment Awareness Training for Civilians, the candidate must be a Brazilian civilian and hold a higher education degree in international relations, political science, social sciences, public administration, anthropology, law, economics, or related fields. The course will be taught in Portuguese; however, participants are advised that there will be abundant use of English vocabulary.
