Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Course
The Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Course is conducted at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB). It aims to enhance the preparation process for military personnel to be deployed in the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia (UNVMC). This Special Political Mission is tasked with overseeing the fulfillment of political, economic, and social commitments of the peace agreement signed in 2016 between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP) for the integration of former guerrillas into civilian life.
Duration
The course lasts a total of two weeks, developed in two phases: the first phase lasting one week in a distance learning modality, and the second phase lasting one week, conducted at CCOPAB facilities.
Distance Learning Phase: March 24 to 28, 2025; and
In-person Phase: March 31 to April 4, 2025.
Requirements
To enroll in the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Course, the candidate must be an officer, warrant officer, or career sergeant of the Brazilian Army, other Regular and Auxiliary Forces, and Armed Forces of Friendly Nations. Candidates should be assigned to a UN mission or about to be deployed, where they will perform tasks related to DDR. Spanish proficiency is required, as the course will be conducted in this language.
