CCOPAB carries out the 2013-2 Course for Military Translators and Interpreters

IMG 2643okFrom 5 to 9 of August, 2013, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) will carry out the Course for Military Translators and Interpreters (ETIMil) – in-class phase, for those military personnel who have volunteered for these functions in a PKO mission and have proven proficiency in French or English. The course aims at preparing military personnel as future interpreters and translators in the Brazilian Battalion and Brazilian Engineering Company deployed in Haiti, and also at enhancing the following affective attributes: adaptability, self-confidence, comradeship, coherence, cooperation, creativity, intellectual discipline, emotional balance, initiative, organization and responsibility.

CCOPAB carries out the 2013-2 Course for Unit Commanders and Staff

IMG 7905okFrom July 31 to August 2, the Brazilian Ministry of Defense (Brasília-DF) started off the First Phase of the Course for Unit Commanders and Staff (EPCOEM) that will compose the 19th Brazilian Contingent (19 CONTBRAS) of the United Nations Mission for the Stabilization in Haiti (MINUSTAH, acronym in French). The 19th Brazilian Contingent is made up by the Brazilian Battalion, the Brazilian Engineering Company and the Marines Company (BRABAT/BRAENGCOY/Marines COY 19), and the course aims at presenting instructions collected from the UN's Core Pre-deployment Training Material (CPTM).

From 29 to 31 of July, the apprentices will undergo the course, whose objectives are to present them the organization, the missions and the work developed at CCOPAB, the peculiarities of the structure and the functioning of the United Nations (UN), the UN's personnel recruiting process, and also to train Brazilian military personnel from the three armed forces for the actual interviews.
