CCOPAB receives visit from the Land Operations Command
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 10 May 2023, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) received the visit of Major General ALEXANDRE, Chief of Peace Missions, Aviation and Inspector-General of State Police, from the Land Operations Command (COTER, acronym in Portuguese), accompanied by Colonel VICTOR HUGO, Lieutenant Colonel USTRA and Warrant Officer FLÁVIO, all of them from the Peace Mission Division, in COTER.
At the beginning of the visit, CCOPAB Commander presented the activities carried out by CCOPAB, when it comes to the preparation of military, police and civilian personnel, from Brazil and friendly nations, designated to peace missions and humanitarian demining missions; in addition to the training of contingents for the Humanitarian and Logistic Task Force (Operation ACOLHIDA), as well as the preparation of troops for the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (UNPCRS).
Afterwards, the entourage visited CCOPAB educational facilities, an opportunity in which the delegation could follow the ongoing activities of the United Nations Staff Officer (UNSO), United Nations Military Observer (UNMO) and United Nations Police (UNPOL) courses, to be completed on 02 June 2023. The objective of the courses is to train military and police personnel, from Brazil and from friendly nations, to perform the functions of Staff Officers, Military Observers and Individual Police Officers, when deployed to Peace Operations under the aegis of the United Nations (UN).
At the end of the visit, the Chief of Peace Missions, Aviation and Inspector-General of State Police signed CCOPAB’s Book of Honour.
