Ceremony of handing over the green beret to new recruits at CCOPAB
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 04 May 2023, the ceremony of handing over the olive green beret to the 33 newly-recruited privates was held at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB).
The event was attended by family members and friends of the new privates. In addition to the ceremonial delivery of the Green-Olive Beret, the soldiers who stood out among their peers in the first phase of instruction of the Compulsory Military Service were awarded: Private JONATAS DO NASCIMENTO ALVES, distinction awarded for the Basic Combat Training Camp; and Private GABRIEL MORENO DE OLIVEIRA, general distinction awarded for the Basic Combat Training period. They both received greetings from the Commander of CCOPAB and a token from the Commander of the Command and Educational Support Company, Captain MURILO RAFAEL SANTOS MAIA PIAUI.
Handing over the beret represents the conclusion of the first phase of military training, when privates are able to join combat fractions, after having overcome stiff weeks of theoretical and practical instructions as well as in field exercises. The military and civilian values the privates acquired during this training phase will be useful for future missions in the Brazilian Army.
