CCOPAB organizes the first working meeting of ALCOPAZ under the Presidency of Brazil
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On 15 March 2023, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) held the first working meeting of the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (ALCOPAZ), with the objective of debating the main activities proposed by Brazil, currently holding the pro tempore presidency of the Association, including the organization of the Annual Assembly XV. The event in Brazil will bring together representatives of Peacekeeping Training Centers from more than 20 countries. The meeting, remotely conducted in Spanish, relied on the participation of full members, observers and guests of ALCOPAZ.
The Association is an entity fundamentally focused on training members of the Armed Forces, Security Forces and Civilian Personnel to be deployed to Peacekeeping Operations under the aegis of the United Nations (UN).
On 25 November 2022, during the ALCOPAZ Assembly XIV, at the Argentine Joint Training Center for Peace Operations (CAECOPAZ), Brazil took over the pro tempore Presidency of the institution for the year 2023, and so CCOPAB is to hold the Secretary of the Association.
