CCOPAB welcomes delegation from the US Army

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On 13 March 2023, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) welcomed a delegation from the United States Army Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (U.S. Army PKSOI), composed of Colonel FLOYD S. LIDDICK, Director of PKSOI; Colonel JONATHAN T. DRAKE, Chief of PKSOI Peace Mission Division; and Colonel LAUTIER BARBOSA DE AZEVEDO, a Brazilian soldier who works as a Peace Operations Analyst at PKSOI. The objective of the visit was to get to know the facilities and the main activities carried out by CCOPAB.

During the visit, the visiting delegation had the opportunity to know the activities carried out by CCOPAB, when it comes to the preparation of military, police and civilian personnel, from Brazil and friendly nations, designated to peace missions and humanitarian demining missions; in addition to the training of contingents for the Humanitarian and Logistic Task Force (Operation ACOLHIDA), as well as the preparation of troops for the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (UNPCRS).

After visiting the educational facilities, the activity ended as the Director of PKSOI, on behalf of the delegation, signed CCOPAB’s Book of Honor.

In addition to the entourage, Colonel JOÃO MARCELO DE SOUZA PASSOS, from the Land Operations Command (COTer), was also present at the activity.
